Athabasca University

Louis Svenningsen

Academic Coordinator, Career Development

I joined Athabasca University in 2008 while completing my PhD from the University of Manitoba, which focused on post-secondary teaching, learning, and critical thinking. In addition to my responsibilities at Athabasca University I have been an instructor at several universities; teaching in face-to-face, blended, and online environments. I have also been an Instructional Designer with the University of Manitoba, followed by an appointment at the University of Winnipeg as an Instructional Technologist and Booth University College.

I have been an author and co-author of several research articles, a book chapter on digital and personalized learning, and have presented at numerous conferences.

My educational and research interests involve assessing and developing newer digital and personalized approaches to post-secondary education in combination with standard and well-supported theories and designs.
