The course will give you an appreciation of the diversity of the discipline of psychology. This course will also provide you with a broad understanding of the way in which psychology developed into a social science.
I work in the area of philosophy of mind at the interface of cognitive psychology. In my Ph.D. dissertation I developed a cognitive theory of empathy. I continue to be interested in the topics of mental state ascription and mental representation. I have published in Dialogue and Philosophical Psychology.
I am a regular instructor in the Psychology and Philosophy Departments at the University of Victoria in British Columbia. I joined Athabasca University in 2007. I am happy to be part of a University that values open learning and innovative course delivery.
I live in Victoria with my husband, Paul, and our cat, Edith.
